City of Bluefield, WV
The City of Bluefield, West Virginia is seeking responses to this Request for Proposals from interested parties for asphalt work within the City Park, in the town limits of Bluefield, Virginia. Scope shall be as detailed below. Quantities may be adjusted to fit budgetary needs after bids are accepted.
⢠Walking Track Addition
oEncompassing 3,200 LF within the park, see maps for details
oTack-Coat and 2â Surface Paving on Walking Trails
o2â Compacted Depth Avg of Surface Asphalt
o 5' Wide by approximately 2600 LF Long
o 16,000 SQFT of coating, (see attached spec sheet for details)
o Wash and Prep Trail for Coating
oInstallation of one coat of Flexible Acrylic Resurface
o Installation of two coats of Surfacing Material
Proposal Requirements:
⢠A list of similar projects and references
⢠Scope, Installation, and/or outline of work and time frame for completion
⢠Proposed total price for all asphalt surfaces and give cost per cubic foot per material
⢠Submittal of material specifications and quantities. (Materials subject to review before bid acceptance.)
⢠Base leveling as necessary
⢠Product should withstand cracking or heaving and be resistant to most hostile materials
⢠Installation and design are intended for foot and cycle traffic only
⢠Owner will prepare trail for 5' width paving and installation of stone flush with surface level of Asphalt
⢠Owner will prepare subgrades and agrees to present in a Ready to Pave State
o Compacted and Proof-Rolled
⢠Must be a certified installer
ALL PROPOSALS MUST BE SEALED AND CLEARLY MARKED âWalking Track Additionâ. PROPOSALS MUST BE RECEIVED BY 2:00 P.M. LOCAL TIME AT CITY HALL, 200 ROGERS ST. BLUEFIELD, WV 24701, ON OR BEFORE MAY 1ST 2026, AND SEALED BIDS WILL BE OPENED AT 10:00 A.M. ON MAY 4TH, 2026.
Faxed or emailed proposals cannot be accepted.
The City of Bluefield will afford full opportunity for minority business enterprises to submit a show of interest in response to this invitation and will not discriminate against any interested firm or individual on the grounds of race, creed, color, sex, age, handicap, or national origin in the contract award. The City of Bluefield reserves the right to contract with one firm (lowest responsible bidder) or the entire project or more than one firm for various components of the project, as the City deems to be in its best interest.
