PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED REZONING
CITY OF VIENNA, WOOD COUNTY, WEST VIRGINIA
Notice is hereby given that the Vienna Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing on April 27 th 2026 at 5pm at 609 29 th Street Vienna, WV 26105 in the Vienna City Council Chambers , regarding a proposed amendment to the City of Vienna Zoning Map to rezone certain real property located in the City of Vienna, Wood County, West Virginia, owned by West Virginia University at Parkersburg (WVUP) , formerly known as the campus of Ohio Valley University .
The proposed rezoning will change the property from an Educational (E1) zoning district to a combination of Residential (R-1) and Commercial (C-1) zoning districts , as depicted on a rezoning plat. Said plat is available for public inspection and review upon request at the office of the Planning and Zoning Officer, Kevin Parrish, City of Vienna , 609 29th Street, Vienna, West Virginia 26105 , during regular business hours.
Property Identification / Description:
The property consists of approximately 118 acres, more or less , and includes multiple tracts and parcels owned by WVUP and commonly associated with the former Ohio Valley University campus , including, without limitation:
Tax Map 4-150-D , Deed Book 1366, Page 523 , identified of record as Parcel Three , containing 57.156 acres, more or less ;
Additional campus tracts commonly referred to as the South Campus and other associated parcels described of record in Tax Map 4-150-E1, A1, E, and B, Deed Book 1366, Page 535 ;
Further parcels and interests described and referenced in Deed Book 1366, Page 585 , Deed Book 1383, Page 243 , Deed Book 1395, Page 564 , Deed Book 975, Page 598 , et al.
All the above property is more particularly described by the metes-and-bounds descriptions contained in the referenced deed books and pages, together with all appurtenances thereunto belonging, and subject to all exceptions, reservations, easements, and prior conveyances set forth in said recorded instruments . The areas to be rezone are set out more completely on the plat on file with the City of Vienna.
All interested persons may appear at the public hearing and be heard. Written comments may be submitted to the City of Vienna, 609 29th Street, Vienna, WV 26105 , on or before the hearing date.
