In response to a release of petroleum products from regulated tanks, the property owner/operator under the direction of the Tanks Corrective Action Unit of the Department of Environmental Protection developed a draft corrective action plan (CAP) for the following site:

In 2000, petroleum underground storage tanks were removed at Hartman’s Service Station located at 502 Lee Ave. in Franklin, Pendleton Co., WV. Evidence of a petroleum release was identified during removal of these tanks and contamination in groundwater monitoring well MW-1 remains. The proposed corrective action plan is to apply a microbial hydrocarbon bioremediation compound to groundwater monitoring well MW-1 for purposes of remediation. The remediation will be evaluated at a quarterly interval for a period of one to two years.

The CAP briefly describes the extent of the release and details the proposed cleanup methods at the site. The CAP is available for public review at the following location:
