TOWN OF CHESAPEAKE SANITARY BOARD PUBLIC HEARING Date: Tuesday, May 26, 2026 Public Hearing Time: 6:00 PM Location: Dr. Lisa E. Curry Memorial Building – 12316 MacCorkle Ave. Chesapeake, WV 25315 Following the Public Hearing, the Town Council will convene its regularly scheduled Council Meeting at the same location. PROJECT SUMMARY The proposed two phase Sewer Rehabilitation Project includes major upgrades to the Town of Chesapeake's wastewater collection system, including pump station replacements and rehabilitations, sewer line and forcemain replacements, manhole improvements, and associated restoration work. Phase 1 includes replacing Pump Stations 1 and 2 with new stations in new locations, removing and replacing approximately 3,700 LF of gravity sewer, and replacing approximately 3,900 LF of forcemains. Phase 1 is estimated to begin in March 2027. Phase 2 includes rehabilitation of Pump Stations 3, 4, and 5, removal and replacement of approximately 4,400 LF of gravity sewer, and replacement of approximately 2,400 LF of forcemains. The Phase 2 start date is TBD. Estimated Costs: Phase 1 Total: $4,264,100 Phase 2 Total: $3,582,000 Combined Estimated Project Cost: Approximately $8.7 million FUNDING The Town anticipates utilizing the following sources to finance the project: West Virginia Infrastructure & Jobs Development Council (WVIJDC) Grant DEP Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) Principal Forgiveness DEP CWSRF Loan (0.75% interest, 0.25% administrative fee, 30 year term) NOTE REGARDING SEWER RATES This project may necessitate an adjustment to municipal sewer rates. A separate public hearing will be scheduled to address any proposed rate changes. Customers served by the Chesapeake Sanitary Board will be notified in advance of that hearing.
