The Wirt County Board of Education will be accepting sealed bids for the upcoming 2025 Wirt County Primary Center Student Drop Off/Pick-Up Area Paving Project”. A sealed bid must be hand-delivered to: Wirt County Board of Education, 389 Mulberry Street, Elizabeth, WV 26143, or mailed to Wirt County Board of Education, 189 Mulberry Street, Elizabeth, West Virginia by 10:00 AM, Friday, May 16, 2025. The required completion date for the project is Monday, August 4, 2025. Bids must be labeled “2025 Wirt County Primary Center Student Drop Off/Pick-Up Area Paving Project.” The Wirt County Board of Education reserves the right to reject or accept any or all bids.

The project specifications include the following:
1. Layout asphalt paving area
2. Remove and reinstall current parking blocks
3. Grade and shape existing stone as required
4. Provide, install, and compact additional stone as required
5. Roll and compact sub-base
6. Install and compact 2 1/2 ” base course and a 1 1/2″ wearing course asphaltic concrete (for a combined 4″ combined asphalt thickness for an area approximately 18,204 square feet)
7. Stripe for maximum parking
8. Clean the current walking track (key in ends for a smooth transition and full depth of concrete)
9. Apply a tack coat for adhesion to existing surface, install a ½” asphalt scratch and level course
10. Install and compact a 1 ½” asphaltic concrete overlay approximately 1,053 square feet
Checklist for Bidding; includes the following:
1. Provide copy of liability insurance
2. Provide copy of WV Worker’s Compensation coverage
3. Business Registration License
4. WV Secretary of State Certification of Authorization
5. Drug-Free Workplace Affidavit
6. Complete W-9
7. Complete No Debt Affidavit
8. If bid is over $25,000, bond will be required.
