PROPOSED
PHASE II – SOUTH DENTS RUN SANITARY SEWER EXTENSION
THRASHER PROJECT #101-020-1209
Sealed Bids for Phase I – South Dents Run Sanitary Sewer Extension will be received by the City of Westover, 500 DuPont Road, Westover, Monongalia County, West Virginia, until 2:00 P.M., L.P.T., on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 for furnishing labor and materials and performing all Work set forth in the Contract Documents prepared by The Thrasher Group, Inc. Immediately following the scheduled closing time for the reception of bids, all proposals which have been submitted in accordance with the conditions of the Contract Documents will be publicly opened and read aloud.
The approximate quantities of Work to be Bid upon is as described as follows:
Construction shall consist of 1,705 LF of 8” PVC Sanitary Sewer Line, 100 LF of 8” Ductile Iron Sanitary Sewer Line, 175 LF of 6” PVC Sanitary Sewer Line, 11 EA 48” Concrete Manholes, 20 VF of Concrete Manhole Riser, 1 EA 6” Terminal Gravity Sewer Cleanout, 2 EA 8” x 4” PVC Wye, 165 LF of 4” Sanitary Sewer Lateral Piping, 30 LF of 16” Steel Casing (Bore and Jack), 60 LF of HMA Park Lot Repair, 55 LF of 16” Steel Casing (Open Cut), 110 LF of WVDOH Type “B” Repair, 20 TN of 2” HMA Overlay, 100 LF of Gravel Driveway/Road Repair, 175 LF Stream Bank Slope Protection, 1,155 LF 2” PVC SDR-17 Force main, 1 EA Connection to existing Aeration Unit, 1 EA Connection to Existing Manhole, 1 EA Combination Air/Vacuum Release Valve, 1 EA 2” Pressure In-line Cleanout, 1 EA Connection to Existing Force main, and other necessary appurtenances to make the project complete.
The Work will be substantially completed within 90 days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run, and completed and ready for final payment within 120 days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run. Liquidated damages shall be $500.00 per day.

Complete sets of Bidding Documents may be obtained from the office of The Thrasher Group, Inc. located at 600 White Oaks Blvd., P.O. Box 940, Bridgeport, WV 26330, for the following costs:
● Bidding Documents issued as hard copy drawings and hard copy specifications are available for $100 per set.
● Bidding Documents issued as hard copy drawings and digital Specifications on a C.D., are available for $75
per set.
● Bidding Documents issued as digital drawings and digital specifications on a C.D., are
AFB – 2 available for $25 per set.
Amounts paid are not subject to refund.
A two envelope system will be used.
Envelope No. 1 must have the following information presented on the front:
Name and address of Bidder
Bid on Phase II – South Dents Run Sanitary Sewer Extension
Received by the City of Westover
Envelope No. 2 labeled “Bid Proposal” shall also be placed inside of Envelope #1.
Envelope No. 1 will be opened first and the Bid Opening Requirement items checked for compliance as outlined on the Bid Opening Checklist on page BOR – 1 of these contract documents. If such documents are found to be in order, Envelope No. 2 “Bid Proposal” , will then be opened and will be publicly read aloud. If the documents required to be contained in Envelope No. 1 are not in order, Envelope No. 2 “Bid Proposal” will not be opened and the Bid will be considered non-responsive and will be returned to the Bidder.
A Bidder may not withdraw his Bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date set for the opening of Bids.
Bids shall be accompanied by a certified check or Bid Bond payable to the City of Westover, an amount equal to five percent (5{4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c}) of the base Bid.
Bidders must hold a current West Virginia contractor’ s license on the date of Bid Opening.
Bids received after the scheduled closing time for the reception of Bids will be returned unopened to the Bidders.
The City of Westover reserves the right to reject any and all Bids.
A pre-bid conference will be held at the City of Westover, located at 500 DuPont Road, Westover, Monongalia County, West Virginia, on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 10:00 A.M., L.P.T.
