NOTICE OF APPLICATION TO CHANGE RATES

CASE NO. 20-0069-PWD-19A
CENTRAL BOAZ PUBLIC SERVICE DISTRICT

On January 31, 2020, the Central Boaz Public Service District, a public utility, filed with the Public Service Commission of West Virginia, an application requesting increased rates and charges for furnishing water service to 652 water customers in Wood County, West Virginia. The Applicant also requested emergency interim rates which were granted, subject to refund, by Commission Order entered on March 11, 2020.
Commission Staff also recommended Step 1 and Step 2 final rates and charges for the District’s water customers. The recommended Step 1 rates are designed to generate an increase of $37,159, annually, or an increase of 16.61% over revenue generated by current rates and charges. The Step 2 rates are designed to generate an increase of $20,474, annually, or a 9.15% increase over current rates and a decrease of $6,045, annually, or 2.42% under emergency interim rates. The comparison of current and proposed rates are as follows:

Any person affected by this change has a right to protest or to be heard as to why the changes should not be allowed, either wholly or in part.
Anyone desiring to protest the changed rates and charges must do so, in writing, within ten (10) days of the date of publication of this notice. All protest should be addressed to the Executive Secretary, Public Service Commission of West Virginia, P.O. Box 812, Charleston, West Virginia 25323. To help the Commission determine the justification for additional review and investigation, protests must be specific as to reasons that the recommended rates and charges should be modified. If no hearing is requested and justified, the Commission may affirm the proposed rates, without hearing.
