PUBLIC NOTICE OF CHANGE IN WATER TARIFF

NOTICE is hereby given that on February 26, 2015, the City of Vienna, by Ordinance, adopted revisions to its water rates and charges as contained in its current Water Tariff No. 7 on file with the Public Service Commission of West Virginia. The City currently provides water service to 5,400 customers at Vienna in Wood County, West Virginia.
The City’s current usage rates will remain the same and the customer will see no increase in the billing for actual monthly water usage. The two revisions to Original Sheet No. 4 of the City’s current Water Tariff No. 7 are:
The following provision shall be added:
SECURITY DEPOSIT
All new applicants for residential or other sewer service may be required to deposit (i) a minimum of fifty dollars ($50.00) or (ii) two-twelfths (2/12) of the annual estimated charge for sewer service, whichever is greater.
All new applicants for residential or other combined water and sewer service may be required to deposit (i) a minimum of one hundred dollars ($100.00), or (ii) two-twelfths (2/12) of the annual estimated charge for each service, whichever is greater.
The current Service Reconnecting Charge provision shall be replaced with:
WATER DISCONNECT-RECONNECT-ADMINISTRATIVE FEES
Whenever water service has been disconnected for non-payment of sewer bills, a disconnection fee of $25.00 shall be charged; or in the event the delinquent sewer bill is collected in the field, an administrative fee of $25.00 shall be charged. Whenever water service which has previously been disconnected or otherwise withheld for non-payment of a sewer bill, is reconnected, a reconnection fee of $25.00 shall be charged.
The tariff revision is only a proposal and is subject to change by the Public Service Commission in its review of this filing. The Commission shall review and approve or modify the proposed service charge only upon the filing of a petition within thirty (30) days of the adoption of the ordinance changing said rates or charges, by:
(1) Any customer aggrieved by the changed rates or charges who presents to the Commission a petition signed by not less than twenty-five percent of the customers served by such municipally operated public utility; or
(2) Any customer who is served by a municipally operated public utility and who resides outside the corporate limits and who is affected by the change in said rates or charges and who presents to the Commission a petition alleging discrimination between customers within and without the municipal boundaries. Said petition shall be accompanied by evidence of discrimination; or
(3) Any customer or group of customers who are affected by said change in rates who reside within the municipal boundaries and who present a petition to the Commission alleging discrimination between said customer or group of customers and other customers of the municipal utility. Said petition shall be accompanied by evidence of discrimination.

A complete copy of the proposed revised rate schedules, as well as a representative of the utility to provide any information requested concerning it, is available to all customers, prospective customers, or their agents at the offices of the City Clerk, City of Vienna, 609 29th Street, Vienna, West Virginia.
